Engagement Couple Photoshoot London
Hello and welcome to Olivia and Tom’s engagement couple photoshoot in London. We have put together a visual guide for you, that will inspire you hopefully to get the best out of your photography session in this magnificent city. The images in this article have been captured by London couples photographer Fran, also the founder of The Now Time.
Engagement Couple Photoshoot London Itinerary
If you’re considering taking couples photos in London and you’re overwhelmed by the options when it comes to photoshoot locations, we wanted to suggest an ideal itinerary for your engagement couple photoshoot in London. Knowing that this itinerary will work well, regardless of the season. It works great in summer as well as in winter.
1. Red Telephone Booths – The Recognizable London
One of the most prominent symbols of London are the red telephone booths. It’s a great idea to take photos with these booths. There are many spots with telephone booths in the city. The one that we (and most tourists) prefer, is right by the Westminster Bridge subway station. Starting here allows you to get easily by foot to popular spots such as Big Ben and London Eye.
From this spot we walked to our second photo spot: Westminster Bridge. To get on the South Bank from these telephone boots, it’s an itinerary of 9 minutes walking distance. See the map below.
2. Westminster Bridge
On this itinerary, you will pass next to Big Ben (officially called Elizabeth Tower). However, being so close to the tall tower doesn’t allow for very flattering pictures. Once you get past the half of the bridge however, the view becomes amazing. You will have both Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster in the background. This is quite an epic scenery for couples pictures, whether you are celebrating your engagement, honeymoon, maternity or anniversary.
3. South Bank by Westminster Bridge
You have probably seen many images from this spot. From vacation photos to engagement pictures, this spot is one of the most iconic. The vantage point is cool, because it allows for a direct view over the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben. Two of the most iconic landmarks that London proudly displays. It’s probably a good idea to wear something colorful, to contrast with the pastel background of the official buildings.
If you’re interested in London couples photography, we would be delighted to be considered. You deserve a photographer who cares about you and your pictures.
4. Tower Bridge
Next on the itinerary was the other iconic landmark that you’ll see on every tourist brochure about London. It’s probably a good idea to get to this place either by cab or by uber. It’s a 20 minutes ride from Westminster bridge.
Now, you have the option to change your outfit here, or keep the same one from the first location. The backdrops are rather neutral, so colorful outfits work great for contrast.
5. The In-Between Locations
We always say that sometimes, the shots in between the main locations are the best. We have these high expectations from couples photos every time we arrive in a main photo spot. However, moving into a new spot can allow us to take spontaneous and fun pictures. With Olivia and Tom, on their engagement couple photoshoot in London we stopped for ice cream right after Tower bridge. This was a nice opportunity to have a few fun pics and enjoy a delicious ice cream.
6. Peggy Porschen in Belgravia – Visually Delicious Couples Photos Café
For the next part of the photo shoot, our couple decided to switch outfits. Their new wardrobe was meant to fit better with the pastel tones of Peggy Porschen and the adjacent streets of Belgravia.
Our favorite thing about Peggy Porschen as a romantic photo spot is that it’s so colorful and girly. We love all the little details. Plus, after you’re done with the photos you can really enjoy their delicious deserts. Believe it or not, this is also one of our favorite photo spots for summer family photos.
7. Belgravia – Posh Couple Photoshoot Location
Just in walking distance from Peggy Porschen, lays an entire neighborhood with beautiful houses and parks around Belgravia.
As you could see, whenever it made sense, we tried to use props for this engagement couple photoshoot in London: ice cream, sunglasses, cupcakes and for the last part of the photoshoot we picked up some spring flowers. When deciding on props for your couples session, think of something that feels meaningful for you as a couple. Props give a fun dimension to your couples pictures. But remember: they have to be within character. Don’t just do it for the sake of using props.
We hope that you have enjoyed Olivia and Tom’s engagement couple photoshoot in London. Use the tips from this page to plan your upcoming romantic shoot in London. If you are looking for a professional photographer, we would be delighted to capture this milestone of your relationship with beautiful images.
